An immersive journey into the coexistence between humans and wildlife

Coexister is an exhibition designed for the Association for the Development of Protected Areas (ADAP), exploring the challenges of coexistence between local communities and wildlife in Tanzania. Through stories, testimonies, scientific content and interactive experiences, the exhibition invites visitors to better understand the realities of conservation and the solutions developed on the ground.

A journey through five themes

The exhibition unfolds through five thematic chapters: Immerse, Understand, Testimonies, Explore and Act. Scenography and wayfinding guide visitors throughout the experience, creating a clear narrative while offering different levels of reading and exploration.

A modular graphic system

The exhibition identity is built around a system of overlapping graphic blocks, conceived as a modular structure. These blocks organise and prioritise information while allowing great flexibility in composition. Images, texts, maps, testimonies and data coexist within the same panels, creating a clear and engaging reading experience. A palette of green tones, from ADAP’s identity, provides visual consistency while distinguishing the different sections of the exhibition.

A scenography designed for long term use

The exhibition is built around custom-made metal structures fitted with interchangeable printed banners. The metal rods can be positioned at different heights, allowing the display to be easily adapted to different types of content and exhibition spaces.

This modular system enables quick assembly and dismantling while making the exhibition easy to reuse and adapt for future ADAP awareness and outreach projects.

At the end of the exhibition, an interactive video game invites visitors to put their understanding of the challenges surrounding human–wildlife coexistence into practice. Conceived as an extension of the exhibition, it encourages visitors to explore the consequences of different decisions while reflecting on the themes presented throughout the journey.

The game was developed by Raimondo Pizzaro and illustrated by Charlie Charlo
