Trojan Parasite for Archipelago

A modular bench, a mobile parasite or a pretext to dialogue.

In collaboration with: Ala Tannir, Meriem Chebani, Mara Usai, Arthur Modoianu

A mobile parasite bringing cultural discussions to the heart of Geneva with talented local and international architects, landscape designers, and curators around topics. Tackling issues related to the city during Archipelago : Architectures for the Multiverse Festival.

A Mobile Parasite

On invitation by Vera Sacchetti, we first conducted a workshop at La Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design (HEAD). It was followed by a performative installation for the conference of Archipelago : Architectures for the Multiverse. We created and used modular benches that we carried on our backs throughout the city as a parasitic meeting space: the Trojan Parasite.

We invited talented local and international architects, landscape designers, and curators to join us in discussing topics and issues related to the city of Geneva. Invited were Ala Tannir, Meriem Chebani, Mara Usai, and Arthur Modoianu.

The installation only existed momentarily, for the time of a conversation, as a parasitic meeting point. With the aim to invite passersby to listen in and participate. This installation aimed to bring the festival, which usually caters to a specific audience, to the city center: for everyone.

The recorded and generated discussions traveled around the city, back into the festival space, creating a new source of debate.
